Here's a cool heirloom tomato from Taliaferro's organic farm. It looked like a piece of art and tasted like a masterpiece.

Here are links to some wonderful organizations that are doing great things for neglected, abused and/or abandoned animals as well as links to vegan products and foods. New links will be added to this list from time to time.

These organizations do tremendous work to save abused and/or abandoned animals, as well as to find them loving new homes:

These organizations take in abused/neglected farm animals. Check out their sites, some of the stories about these sweet animals will make you cry-both for the pain they've endured as well as the peace they've now found! And they're available for adoption.

Another adorable picture of Bear. He had been badly abused by his previous guardian. Although claustrophobic and sometimes skittish, Bear now happily roams the fields at his new home with the Taliaferro's and their farm.

Here's the feline love of Roni's life, Jupiter Shapiro. Beloved Jupiter unfortunately died suddenly a while back, one month after receiving her first Rabies Vaccine.

My rescued kitty Juniper is named for Jupiter who passed away. Juniper is filled with unlimited love for anyone and everyone. At present she is missing and I pray for her return!

Here are some cool conscious stores that provide organic produce and animal free products. Roni got a great pair of UNleather boots from Moo Shoes that she LOVES.

This rescued boy is Luigi, brother to Juniper. He's my main man and a great Italian guy!

Here's the website for Pete Taliaferro's Organic Farm that HGTG gets lots of its produce from.

This is most of the crew, from left to right: Juniper, Max, Luigi and Eli...all doing what they do best, being couch potatoes and looking oh so adorable while doing it!

In addition to the wonderful Kushi Institute website below, here are a few books that inspired Roni to work with macrobiotic cooking for healing:

Cancerfree- 30 who Triumphed over Cancer Naturally- East West Foundation with Ann Fawcett
Macrobiotic Home Remedies- Michio Kushi
Diet for a Strong Heart- Michio Kushi

This is Baby with aptly named Mommy Cat. The names just stuck and almost 1 year later rescued Mommy cat has recently gone off on adventure and I pray for her return. Baby is presently growing big and strong after being born amongst 4 still borns (the life of an outdoor feral isn't a pretty one). Moral of the story....spay and neuter as many strays/ferals as you can and if you can't find them good homes, release them back where you found them. It's the best way to humanely stop the needless pain and suffering of so many unwanted cats.
